IBRO Parenthood Grants. International Brain Research Organization.
• Early-career researchers whose research has been affected by pregnancy, parental leave, or adoption leave and who need funding to maintain research continuity.
• Early-career principal investigators (within 7 years of appointment) with a peer-reviewed publication who are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are about to adopt and become the primary caregiver.
• Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America region, Pan-Europe region and US/Canada.
• Up to $4k grants.
• August 15, 2026.
Residency Program - Art, psychiatry and society. Françoise Association for Contemporary Work in Society.
• A residency program dedicated to the relationships between contemporary creation, psychiatry, and the humanities.
• Mid-career or established artist-authors of any discipline. Must demonstrate ease communicating in French or English and a demonstrated interest in the relationships between art (reception, creation, criticism, etc.) and mental health care.
• All countries.
• €1k grant.
• August 16, 2026.
Direct Aid Program (DAP). Australian High Commission Republic of Kenya.
• Projects advancing climate resilience, skills and livelihoods, health and wellbeing, human rights and inclusion, protection of vulnerable groups, and peace and security.
• Projects that demonstrate a high level of local involvement or partnership with other likeminded organisations (financially and/or in kind) are encouraged.
• Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania or Uganda.
• Up to ~$42,354 (AUD 60k) grants.
• August 16, 2026.
Grants for reporting on biodiversity in West Africa. Earth Journalism Network.
• To improve the quality and quantity of media coverage of biodiversity in the region, while highlighting the serious threats facing West Africa’s natural heritage as well as promising or proven solutions.
• Journalists working in all types of media (online press, print media, television, radio), as well as other media professionals with proven reporting experience.
• West Africa, preference will be given to journalists based in French-speaking West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Niger, Senegal, and Togo).
• Up to €2k grants alongside mentorship.
• August 21, 2026.
International Innovation Grant. American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
• Novel and innovative projects that can have a significant impact on cancer control in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
• Not-for-profit with a charitable purpose (e.g. medical societies or associations, advocacy organizations, foundations, hospitals, universities) or a government agency.
• Must be located in a country categorized by the World Bank as Low-Income, Lower-Middle Income, or Upper-Middle Income.
• Up to $20k grant funding.
• August 28, 2026.
Google Africa AI Lab. Google Labs.
• Supports founders from across the continent interested in using the latest AI research to address real-world, uniquely African challenges - and, in turn, build Africa’s first generation of AI-native unicorn startups.
• Collaborative AI product development and rapid prototyping focused on Africa’s future of work, knowledge, software development, creativity, and entertainment.
• Current full-time founders and/or top researchers who are looking to become startup founders.
• Africa.
• Selected startups receive early access to Google DeepMind AI models, technical and go-to-market support, and potential funding from Google and leading venture capital firms.
• August 31, 2026.
C3 EmpowerHer program. C3 (Companies Creating Change).
• A 6-month program supporting women-led and women-benefitting climate resilience enterprises across MENA, helping them strengthen solutions to the region’s most urgent climate challenges, from water and food security to heat resilience and coastal adaptation.
• Early-stage (with traction: Pre-seed to pre-Series A, with an MVP and early evidence of traction) climate resilience ventures, should be women-centered: Either women-led or women-benefitting solution. Your core mission is in climate resilience rather than pure mitigation.
• MENA-based or MENA-operating: Headquartered in or primarily operating within MENA.
• Up to $20k catalytic pilot funding alongside tailored support.
• August 31, 2026.
Virtual Media Workshop on Mining, Environment and Human Rights Reporting in Africa. Earth Journalism Network.
• A three-day virtual media workshop scheduled for November 3-5, 2026, aimed at strengthening the capacities of journalists and content creators in Ghana, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Africa to report on mining, environmental and human rights issues.
• Freelance reporters and staff from all types of media organizations – community-based, local, national and international. Especially encourage women, rural, Indigenous and early-career journalists to apply.
• Open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) as well as social media content creators with experience covering mining, environmental and/or human rights issues.
• Ghana, Uganda, DRC or South Africa.
• $2k grants (a total of 10 grants to be awarded).
• September 6, 2026.
Africa Energy Innovation Competition. Nigeria Energy Forum.
• Young, early-stage energy entrepreneurs across Africa to develop, prototype and scale innovative devices, equipment and digital solutions for social enterprise, agribusiness, fintech and energy management using locally available resources.
• Four innovation tracks for early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa, including: 1) Powering Youth Employment & Green Jobs, 2) Energizing Agribusiness & Waste-2-Energy, 3) Greening Local Manufacturing & Value Addition and 4) Transforming AI & Connectivity.
• Individuals or teams, young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
• Africa.
• Receive share of cash prize grants of up to $10k alongside industry mentorship.

Rolex Explorers Club Grant. The Explorers Club.
• Open to explorers conducting fieldwork that addresses a novel scientific, environmental, or historical question in any discipline.
• In addition to demonstrating a spirit of exploration, candidates must submit a project or research proposal with a clear scientific rationale, original work, and the potential for significant impact or new understanding.
• All countries.
• $10k grants.
• September 14, 2026.
2026-2027 Joint WHO African Region/TDR Impact Grants. eTDR.
• Strengthening research capacity and developing locally relevant, One Health solutions to improve health systems and combat infectious diseases of poverty.
• The Principal Investigator (PI) and (most of) the research team must be based in an institution in an African Region country or territory, including national tropical/communicable disease control programmes, ministries of health, academic institutions, research institutes and nongovernmental organizations.
• Applications are particularly encouraged from qualified applicants who are in the earlier career stage and are women.
• Africa.
• Up to $15k per grant.

Tara’s Circle. Tara for Women.
• Women-led projects generating social, environmental, and economic impact through innovative solutions.
• Projects where a woman is founder or co-founder and plays an active role in leading the project. Initiatives at the seed stage, with a defined MVP or a functional MVP.

• Up to €10k cash award.

Grants for Iguana Conservation. International Iguana Foundation.
• Priority is given to projects that protect threatened iguanas and their habitats, improve knowledge of Data Deficient species, or support IUCN-endorsed iguana conservation action plans.
• Scientists, educators, and organizations committed to preserving Earth’s biodiversity.
• All countries.
• Up to $10k grants.

Kensington Conservation Grant. The Explorers Club.
• Supporting high-impact, inclusive exploration projects that advance responsible and sustainable tourism. Supports a wide range of field science disciplines.
• Graduate students, Post-graduate researchers, Early-career scientists and Independent explorers.

• $10k grants.

The Connect & Create program. Institut français.
• Supporting Africa–Europe cultural collaboration through artistic exchange, professional mobility, networking, and mutual learning. Open to Africa-based artistic teams, cultural support and distribution organisations, and professional arts and cultural events.
• Associations and non-profit organisations, private companies, cultural institutions, foundations and other professional cultural organisations.
• West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa and European Union Member States.
• Up to €39,500 grant funding.
• September 30, 2026.
Wege Prize 2027. Wege Prize.
• Challenges teams to use circular design to develop products and services that create unique value, solve real-world problems, and benefit people, businesses, and the environment.
• 1) Eliminate waste and pollution, 2) Circulate products and materials and 3) Regenerate nature.
• Teams must comprise exactly 5 currently enrolled students from at least 3 academic disciplines and represent at least 2 higher-education institutions or distinct schools within one university.
• Non-business teams split the cash prize equally among members, while business applicants receive the award as a lump sum, subject to U.S. tax ID and documentation requirements.

• Up to $30k prize.

• Supports humanitarian, scientific or educational projects which follow in the Transglobe Expedition’s tradition of challenge and perseverance.
